Welcome to my fishing blog. I will try to document as many of my fishing expeditions here as possible...perhaps someone could point out improvement in methods, perhaps others might learn a few tricks from me :) im always glad to share information on this subject...except if i have been sworn to secrecy of course, as s few cases are :D Other than that, enjoy ur visit!!
On the wagon again!!! A brief view of what pics i had from our last trip out to sea...
Here we see some just 'happy' faces...cant you just feel their exitement
Well, at least Im happy to be here!...however, moving along to...
Hockster~ doing some early berleying for the fishies! Shortly after stopping
The early bird gets...a beautiful sunrise...
The Tamban were really taking today...non-stop on apollo jig...only reason i stopped was because i figured thats all i would need, cos im sure i could fill the bucket(below) up if i wanted to...i was pulling up an average of 2 a cast and 3 on a cast was not rare at all...must be a huge scool.
Set up my bigger fish gears, 1 live on bottom and 1 live freelining setup (the 2 rods in the lowest pic)...target for today would be barrakudda or mackeral on freeliner and maybe a red or fingermark snapper on the bottom rig...none came in the end tho'
Heres my Bucket o' Baitfish...Tamban on apollo jig...fun to catch and good for frying too...most of these followed me home cos the biggies werent biting! :) yum!
Also spent a considerable time hunting Todak or Gars around the platform...used many tails from my baitfish. Considerably hard to get a hookup on these buggers cos they keep the bait n hook in their beaks for awhile, and the line tends to get cought up in the rows of teeth and get sheared off too...but, thats what you get when you use a 6lb line on these guys...sigh*...Ladies n gents, my arch-nemesis, the Todak...this one here is about 2 feet long...fairly good specimen....
And i think this last pic for me is what i feel that fishing is...Its a day being on the beach, stone or riverbank getting disconnected from it all...catching an actual fish however, is just a bonus ;)
Cheers, and tight lines to all!!
